WHAT IS A LASH LIFT?

A Lash Lift is a process which will stretch, lift and lengthen your natural lashes into the perfect eye-opening curl. Paired with an eyelash tint to add colour, gloss and definition, the results are instantly beautiful, fluttery eyelashes that last for up to eight weeks… no glued on extensions, no mascara, no pinchy lash curler needed.

WHO IS A LASH LIFT SUITABLE FOR?

Lash Lifts are ideal for anyone who prefers the look of long and lifted lashes. When lashes are lifted, the eyes look more open, brighter and rejuvenated. However, an Eyelash Lift is particularly ideal for those whose lashes lie flat or even grow on a downward angle. This downward growth not only impacts on the visibility of the eyelashes – making them appear shorter than they really are, but in some cases can also impact on vision and eye comfort, especially for people who wear contact lenses or wear glasses.

Repositioning the lashes to sit in an upward direction will not only make your lashes appear longer, but you won’t need to worry about mascara smudging onto the inside of your glasses or your lashes getting in the way when you are trying to pop your contact lenses in.

And yes!… A Lash Lift is suitable for both women and men!

HOW IS A LASH LIFT PERFORMED?

Similar to a hair perming process, the Lash Lift procedure involves the application of two specially formulated solutions that permanently set the lashes into the desired lift and curl.

Beginning with a thorough washing and drying of your lashes, your lash artist will then gently comb and fix your lashes onto a flexible silicone mould that sits over your eyelids. The mould comes in different sizes and gives the lashes the structural support needed to create the desired lift and curl effect.

The solutions are then each applied in sequence for about 5-8 minutes, depending on the thickness of your eyelashes, before being removed to reveal your perfectly long, lifted and curled lashes.

To boost your lashes even further, a defining Eyelash Tint will be applied followed by a conditioning keratin treatment that adds the appearance of volume and density as well as keeps your lashes feeling and looking plump and silky.

IS HAVING A LASH LIFT UNCOMFORTABLE?

At Brazilian Beauty we only use specially formulated, high quality, professional Eyelash Lift products which, unlike the ‘eyelash perming’ formulations of the past, are gentle on your eyes and lashes.

Your lash artist will consult with you prior to your procedure to ensure there are no contraindications. And while the process itself can feel a little fiddly around your eyes, the whole procedure takes just 50 minutes from start to finish, during which you will be lying comfortably with your eyes closed.

LASH LIFT Vs LASH EXTENSIONS… WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE?

While Eyelash Extensions are a very popular way to ‘fake’ longer, thicker lashes, it’s not necessarily everyone’s cup of tea. Although Eyelash Extension give a more dramatic look compared to an Eyelash Lift, they do also come with a certain level of care and upkeep that is required to keep them looking good.

On the other hand, an Eyelash Lift requires very minimal home care and, because the results last several weeks longer than an application of Eyelash Extensions, the maintenance requirements are far less time-consuming and much friendlier on the beauty budget.

The main difference to keep in mind is that while an Eyelash Lift can create unbelievable length, lift and curl of your natural lash, it will not necessarily add extra volume because there are no extra lashes being added as with Eyelash Extensions. However, with the addition of a defining Eyelash Tint and volumizing keratin treatment, an Eyelash Lift is a fantastic alternative to Eyelash Extensions.
