Q: What will my initial investment be?
The average investment range required to open a Brazilian Beauty franchise is between $250,000 and $350,000. Considerations such as the size, condition and location of the tenancy housing your salon vary from one to another.
Your initial investment will cover:
- Franchise territory.
- Salon design and plans.
- Shop fit-out.
- Stock and equipment.
- Comprehensive franchisee training.
- Operations Manual containing systems, policies and procedures.
- Legal fees.
Other areas for you to consider are working capital, salon insurance and security required over the lease.
Q: Are there any on-going fees after the salon opens?
Yes. You pay an on-going royalty of 7% of gross turnover fortnightly. An additional 3% of gross turnover is required as a contribution to the Brazilian Beauty Marketing Fund. This contribution is transparent and goes toward:
- Brand development.
- Web site development and maintenance.
- Marketing, Point-of-Sale, advertising initiatives and support material.
- Promotional activity generated from head office.
- Product development.
Q: What kind of return can I expect?
Turnover varies from location to location. Current Brazilian Beauty franchises experience rapid growth and are cash flow positive within the first few months. Samples of turnover and profitability will be made available to you with the franchise agreement and can be discussed in more detail at that time. Brazilian Beauty has an expectation for every store to achieve certain KPI’s and monitors and coaches each franchisee to achieve these goals.
Brazilian Beauty franchises have the ability to return a healthy profit when fully managed. Franchisees who choose to work in the business may also choose to take a wage and therefore achieve a higher return.
Q: Is previous experience in owning your own business required?
No. Whilst previous experience of owning your own business and managing a team is advantageous, it is not a prerequisite. Brazilian Beauty welcomes first time business owners with the right personality, drive and passion for their future in business and will monitor and support you along your journey to success.
Q: Is previous experience in the Beauty Industry required?
No. The most important thing is that you are focussed on customer service, enjoy leadership, working with a team and have a love of the Beauty Industry.
Q: Is training provided?
Yes. Training is critical in your development as a Brazilian Beauty franchisee and one that we are committed to. The four step training process is:
- The Brazilian Beauty operations manual will be provided once your franchise documentation and sale is complete. This manual contains information on all facets of the business and will give you a great insight into the systems, policies and procedures overlaid in every Brazilian Beauty salon. You are encouraged to read this manual and sign off on each area as the first step in your education process.
- It is now time to commence your ‘one on one’ training with our Head Office Team. This will occur prior to your salon opening date and will require 5 full days of your time. During this course you will be trained in the correct operation of your Brazilian Beauty franchise. Each of the operation modules will be worked through in a classroom environment while you will also be exposed to a working salon.
- The week prior to your salon opening will be spent training and inducting your new team and completing specialist technical training within your salon. We will also use this time to help you set up the salon for trading.
- A member of the Brazilian Beauty support team will be allocated to your salon for the first week of trading to help you settle in and to cover any unforseen challenges that you may encounter.
Q: Am I required to work in the store?
Not necessarily. The Brazilian Beauty system allows for both hands-on and absentee owners. All franchise owners are required to go through the pre-opening training program and to demonstrate the competencies required to run a successful Brazilian Beauty franchise. Whether you are in the store day to day or working from elsewhere, you will need to understand, train and nurture your team ongoing in all systems, policies and procedures.
Q: Which territories are available?
Upon receipt of your application the Brazilian Beauty team will offer you a list of available territories in you chosen area. Currently, great territories are available in all states.
Q: How long until I am up and running?
The timing of your store opening is dependant on the franchise documents being prepared and signed, lease commencement date, salon design approval, shop fit-out period and completion of all training. Brazilian Beauty negotiates the commercial terms of the lease, including the handover date and will take the head lease on the approved tenancy.
A date suitable to you, to the landlord and to the Brazilian Beauty support team will be determined once all factors are confirmed. A documented schedule of events will guide you through this process. A period of between 6 and 12 weeks should be allowed.
